Working Bee Saturday

Good turn up for today, a great deal was accomplished.
The pits area was covered with a carpet-like stuff.

Sprinklers ON, runway is the only green area

One of two shades erected

All looking very good.
The field is looking good, everything is going well for the Pattern Competition in February.
Let's hope for good weather.

Brians PBY

Brian brought his PBY to the field today, assembly took quite some time.
Ably assisted by Ian W everything went together as it should.
Making sure the wing doesn't fall off.
Ron B was there to lend a hand also and inspect everything closely in his capacity as heavy model inspector.
Getting started.
Stunning scratch-built retractable undercarriage.
I sincerely hope I will be present to document the maiden flight.

Christmas Luncheon

Sunday Carvery at The BoatHouse restaurant in Paynesville. I reckon there were 40-odd people present, a great time and food was enjoyed by all.
The price for 3 course carvery with a glass of wine or softdrink was well worth it, a very good venue.

 Lots of guys turned up.

Ian has a new Twin Otter, ELECTRIC POWERED, flys like it's on rails!

30 August 2012

Wednesday 28th was a bit blustery at times but very flyable, Dave tried out his foam 'Global Hawk' EDF.

It was a very exciting flight from my viewpoint, the model was all over the place, but "landed" without damage.
Dave also thought it was quite dramatic.
He says that some adjustment is required at the V-tail end, otherwise, flew well, but getting off the ground was a bit difficult with small wheels on the grass. The weather map is not looking too flash for Sunday.

A rather nasty incident on the day reminds us that electric models can damage human flesh with equal ease as an IC-powered model.

25 July 2012

Wednesday 25th July was a fabulous day for flying except for the COLD.

Brian brought along his own designed C5 Galaxy with 4 - 65mm ducted fans running on 2x4s LiPo
Ripping through the sky on 4s

Coasting in for a smooth landing.
Fly on 2 x 3s LiPo it will, very nicely.
Glide very nicely too it does.
